Full course description
How do the Psalms guide us in the way of God, teach us about God’s mighty deeds, and call us to respond to those saving acts?
This course, prepared by Dr. John Mark Hicks, introduces learners to the Psalms as prayer and hymn literature that narrate God’s saving righteousness. The narrative story of Israel gives rise to the Psalms, and those Psalms are Israel’s liturgical response to God in prayers, hymns, and meditations. The Psalms give us both theological perspective and a voice to both wrestle with and praise God, calling learners to cultivate the embrace of the Psalms as a habit of prayer and meditation.
This is a synchronous, interactive course. Live classes will take place on March 31, April 7, April 14, and April 21.
